What the Narrow Bridge sign means
This yellow diamond warns that a bridge ahead is narrower than the approaching road — the pavement pinches in at the crossing. Two vehicles can still pass, but with little margin, so slow down, keep to your lane, and watch oncoming traffic closely. It is posted before older or rural bridges where the shoulders vanish and the lanes tighten. Do not try to pass on a narrow bridge, and if a large vehicle is coming the other way, be ready to slow further to give it enough room.
What to do when you see it
Slow down, hold your lane, and watch oncoming vehicles closely; do not pass on the bridge.
